Gran Fondo Rockies Is Moving!
Are You Bad Enough To Ride the Badlands?
June 28, 2014
It's time for a change of scenery. We enjoyed the challenges of the Gran Fondo Rockies Nanton route in the rolling foothills, but we didn't want to get stale.
We have found a new location and route that is unusual, scenic, challenging and just plain fun: The Gran Fondo Badlands in Drumheller, Alberta.
No matter what distance you ride, you will see hoodoos, long river and coulee vistas – and many dinosaurs - that comprise the unique terrain of the "badlands" of the Dinosaur Valley.
We have added some extra features this year which we hope you will take advantage of to ensure a full fun weekend of activities for the whole family: discounted hotel rooms, dinner Friday evening to meet and mingle with your fellow riders and learn about the route, and the added opportunity to take part in another ride on Sunday before you leave town (perhaps on the Tour of Alberta route).
These roads are in great shape for cyclists, with new pavement. We hope you join us in the Badlands of Drumheller.
